When the finest watchmaking art meets the high school of jewellery design, time reveals its best side. The successful partnership between the independent Glashütte manufactory Moritz Grossmann and the luxury Singapore jeweller Caratell is proof of the jewellery watch masterpieces that can be created:
two breathtaking watches from the TEFNUT series – Sleeping Beauty and Arabian Nights – were created in close collaboration with Caratell’s head designer and managing director Michael Koh.
The cooperation with Moritz Grossmann began in 2017 with the creation of the TEFNUT Sleeping Beauty, for which he created an iconic design with a magnificent, fairytale-like motif in the shape of a sleeping moon.
TEFNUT Arabian Nights followed in 2018. This stunningly beautiful jewellery watch is a homage to one of the most beautiful collections of stories in the world. It symbolises the legend of the Arabian Nights in which Scheherazade enchants and seduces her king through the art of storytelling.
As part of its international roadshow 2019, Grossmann will present the TEFNUT Arabian Nights with an exquisite Milanaise strap that matches the case in white or rose gold and makes the watch radiate with elegance.
2019 is also the fifteenth anniversary of the Caratell brand. Caratell will celebrate this special event by hosting its own exhibition in the renowned Luxe Art Museum in Singapore. With the motto ‘Past, Present, Future’, Caratell will invite lovers and collectors of high-quality pieces of jewellery to go on a journey through time to find out about the history of the Singapore-based manufactory.
Moritz Grossmann is looking forward to taking part in the anniversary exhibition of its partner and presenting Schönstes deutsches Handwerk on the themes of past, present and future in its own exhibition space:
these range from an original, historical pocket watch by Moritz Grossmann and the TEFNUT Sleeping Beauty and TEFNUT Arabian Nights models that were developed in cooperation with Michael Koh to roadshow innovations such as the HAMATIC.
With this model, Grossmann Uhren presents the first self-winding movement in the history of the manufactory. The spectrum comprises a selection of the highest quality watches where every detail, including the characteristic Grossmann hands, are elaborately crafted by hand.
Christine Hutter, founder of Grossmann Uhren GmbH, will be present at the festivities and will give exclusive insights into the history of the young Glashütte manufactory.
‘The collaboration with Michael Koh and his Caratell brand is a special highlight for us and has already led to the development of two outstanding models for our collection. Michael’s creative talent, his flair for imaginative designs and his expertise in gemstone selection are absolutely unique’, emphasises Christine Hutter. ‘We’re really looking forward to celebrating the anniversary together with our partner and are excited to see how the future of our successful collaboration unfolds’.
